Welcome to the "cyber home"
of TEXIII Weaving !
We
would like to thank you for your interest, as you may or may not
know, we are Canada’s only INDEPENDENT KNITTER
and WEAVER of reinforcements for the Composites
Industry.
HISTORY
TEX
III’s fiber glass weaving history goes back to the 1960s,
when a company in the Beauce Region of Québec was weaving
woven roving on two old Mackie looms. In 1973 these looms were
purchased by a start-up Company in Drummondville, Québec.
Our president, H.W. Borntraeger III, left the Fiber Glass Division
of PPG Industries in 1976 to join this Company as a partner. In
1978, Borntraeger left the Company to pursue a career on the chemical
side of the Composites Industry. In late 2000, after having started
and sold another fiber glass weaving company (Armtex), Borntraeger
acquired the weaving division of Progress
Plastics & Compounds, a major manufacturer and distributor
in the Canadian Composites Industry. Thus, the name TEX III represents
his third involvement in the fiber glass textile industry.
LOCATION
Our
Knitting and Weaving plant, located in Drummondville, Québec,
Canada, is within 2 miles of major north-south and east-west highways
of the interstate highway system. It is less than 75 miles from
the US-Canada border and less than 50 miles from the port
of Montreal, the major eastern Canada all-weather container
port.
COMPATIBILITY
Because TEX III purchases raw materials from World Scale fiber
glass manufacturers in North America and abroad, we have access
to the finest input rovings and mats, in weights, diameters and
sizes that, when combined with various binders and sizing systems,
allows us to produce an almost unlimited range of fabrics compatible
with almost any resin system.
EQUIPMENT
We
produce our woven and non-woven products on specialized textile
equipment from the best European manufacturers. This equipment
can produce products ranging from light weight woven rovings to
heavy weight combination fabrics in knitted and/or woven widths
from 2" to 120". Our high-speed, computerized, off-machine
slitting capabilities allow us to produce small quantities of
non-standard widths in all our non-woven products.
VERSATILITY
Because
of our size, skill, experience, and flexibility, we can offer
our customers products and services not available from World Scale
manufacturers.
APPLICATIONS
The
products we produce are used in a wide variety of applications
in the transportation, construction, anti-corrosion and marine
industries as well as specialty industries.
